Cyberhome 1600 firmware?

Postby capt nemo on Sun Nov 12, 2006 8:15 pm

I messed up my Cyberhome 1600 and now it will not format discs nor record. I'd like to re-install the factory firmware but since they are out of business I haven't been able to find the FM anywhere. Can someone direct me to a site where I can download or if someone has a copy they can email it to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm afraid I can"t help
The files I have are for the MU1 only and according to Cyberhome they will not work in the MU ot ZU models.

I picked up a Cyberhome 1600 MU1 with remote, that looks like new but will not play or record. Iv'e just kept it for parts.

Thanks anyway. I understand the Liteon 5005 is identical to the Cyberhome 1600mu. If that's right I could use that firmware.

NO

The Cyberhome !600 IS NOT identical to the LiteOn 5005
The Cyberhome 1600 IS the same as the ilo 05

If anything the 5005 is [somwhat the similar to a ilo R04] The R04 is much the same as a 5005x] without Allwrite. The 5005x can be made to operatae as a RO4 or the reverse.

The ilo is made by LiteOn
The Cyberhome units or ilo 05 have nothing in common with a LiteOn or ilo 04 units

PS
Firmware codes indifferent units. even if made by the same manufacture, do not seem to work and can often lead to a non-operating unit

Hi capt nemo,

I just discovered that I have firmware for the iLOR05MU recorder, which is the same as the Cyberhome 1600MU.

The files are DVDR05MU_489.nrg and DVDR1600_MU_r_105N.nrg. I believe these are the "front end" and "rear end" files.

If these would be of use to you send me a PM with an address to email them to.

The files are DVDR05MU_489.nrg and DVDR1600_MU_r_105N.nrg. I believe these are the "front end" and "rear end" files.

The observation and the files seem correct but note the difference the first is R05 the second is R1600 and than another r.

Cyberhome has been very vague and varying about firmware. The firmware I have, was sent to me By the [US] Cyberhome service site and is supposed to be for the Cyberhome 1600 MU1
Yet the firmware is [DVD_R05MU_540.iso] and was said to be the only file Necessary. I don’t think the firmware is for the MU1 only but may be the latest for the US units

Note it is an R05 iso file and I will send it to you

I have never used it. My contact with Cyberhome was because of, what seemed confusion over the firmware. I had noticed a number of owners having problems with firmware.

I feel the firmware is the same for the 05 and the 1600. The naming May Prevent acceptance by either [ a renaming might work]. The 1600 or 05 firmware presents a logo on screen for either the ilo or Cyberhome. If this is the only issue, it should not be a problem as the operation and remotes are the same.

At present I have a R05 that I still use. I also have a 1600 that powers on but will not operate past HELLO. I have not bothered with it and do not intend to. I do not really know if it is a drive or main-board problem. The unit looks as New but is in pieces.

I have a cyberhome 1600 mu1. I've had problems since I got it regarding reading disks. It will not have any problems at all, then all of a sudden it will have problems. I cleaned the lense, etc... and it still has problems.

I would like to try a firmware upgrade. What have I got to lose? Can anyone link me up with the latest US firmware for the MU1 model?

thanks.

ILO-GUY

I do not think firmware is the problem

As to my last post and to clarify
The Info and firmware that Harpmaker posted is correct and consistent with what Cyberhome posted but I felt Cyberhome was very inconsistent. I was pointing this out in my previous post and that Cyberhome had sent to me what was said to be the latest firmware for the 1600MU1 but appeared to be a 05 file. It was said to be the only file needed, and was in .iso format. I do not think it was proper and said so. I sent it to [ipopaa] as requested but have not heard back.

The ilo 05 MU1 that I have works fine with the orig. firmware. I had similar problems as you stated. They all disapeared when I replaced all my Liteon/ilo burners with PC units These problems existed from one Liteon/ilo unit to another and also other units

If the DVD drives are orig. Are the problems stated related to all the units you list or are they more from the R04 and AR230
If a disk is burned in them Might they also have problems in the Panasonic and Pioneer, espcially a +RW if used

I have since located (and downloaded) two firmware files that are supposedly for the cyberhome 1600. Here are the details on the files that I have:

MU1 LOADER 049S - 1,201 KB
DVDR05MU1_610 - 2,411 KB

It appears that one of the files is the DVDR05 file.

Regarding my other recorders, I don't have ANY problems at all with any of the other units. My guess is that the cyberhome is either manufactured incorrectly and has never worked properly, or maybe (and I doubt it) a firmware upgrade can fix the issue. The only problem I'm having now is that it won't recognize the firmware disk! I will keep trying and let you know if anything works. If anyone needs the files I listed, etc. Just ask.

Anyone interested in the Cyberhome 1600 firmware files that I located, I placed them here;

MU1_LOADER_049S.nrg
http://www.divshare.com/download/429426-a69

DVDR05MU1_610.nrg
http://www.divshare.com/download/429427-c00

Again, these are for the MU1 version of the recorder! The Cyberhome 1600 is the same unit as the ILO DVDR05.

I have not yet tried these firmware files! As soon as I am able I will test them on my recorder.
