Dock
Ahh, dock. A cool little dock with a translucent holder that glows blue. Before the latest update, this was on when the rio was on. But now in another touch of detail, it can be user customized to stay on at varying levels, pulse when charging or even pulse in time with the music! Now that's a visualization. There is also a small orange led to indicate power. You can use the dock without power as well for connecting audio, Ethernet or usb.
On the back
of the dock are a pair of RCA connectors for line out which I haven't
tried yet. I had heard that the EQ settings don't work on those outputs
but I've yet to confirm this, and will try to find out.
Next there is a power connector, Ethernet and power connector. So the dock can be used for many different things, it's nice they put all connectivity here. It is so useful you will want a spare or two! But there are not available yet. That's pretty surprising to me since the dock is so multipurpose. One for your stereo hookup, one by the night stand for charging, one at work etc. My hopes are for some kind of a car dock, but again speculative.
This is really a crowning touch in this device, and it's nice and heavy so it won't slide around. Sorry I don't have a photo of the back yet! But jacks is jacks.
