Sound

Before I get to more features, I'll address the sound. The sound should be as good as any digital component regardless of size, especially when you're offering rca jacks... you're just asking for it! Well the Karma meets and exceeds my sound expectations.

Now you'll read many confusing comparisons of sound between these players, what chips they use etc.. But the real gauge is how it sounds to you and what you expect, and this is how I measured.

The sound in the car reveals the most to me surprisingly in spite of so called road noise. This is because my ears are right near the speakers, and I play it louder than anywhere else I might be.

In my car I have a CD changer of good quality. In comparing a standard CD made from mp3-->wav converted audio with the same song on the Karma, I found it was very close in sound quality. I have a compromise wiring setup with too long of an input so accounting for that I rate the sound very good. I'm no audiophile, but I know bad sound when I hear it (RD2780!) and this is excellent

Playing-->.
