Operating

The best thing here is that out of the box, XP will mount it as a drive, and you just drag and drop! The same goes for the compact flash slot, so it's like getting a flash drive included!

Interestingly if you view hidden files, you can see the internal files, which includes a directory of .pic and other images to compose the interface. Possibility of alternate "skins" is here I'm thinking.

I'll fill in more info about the software included once I install it! I know it has music match, a desktop tray icon, and plugin for music match (I assume for the protected wma stuff). It's so great that it will just work as it is though, that's a big plus for me.

Screen

The screen looks pretty good to me, but I can't say I can compare it to much since I don't own an archos or similar. It appears to be lit from the right side, and on mine the right lower corner is a bit darker than the rest.

Again lens makes this bulbous, it's really nice and square.

They apparently interlace the video like a normal tv set would. But the screen is turned sideways so what would be the scan lines are vertical. I think this orientation is what makes the interlace seem so odd. It's too bad they couldn't have it not be interlaced. It is noticeable in video motion and in picture detail. But it's not that bad. I think the color on it is very good.
