Final Word

If you have noticed that I am leaning towards choosing the AV300 as the winner, you are correct. My RD2780 was returned to Circuit City the next afternoon. They did not give me any hassle.

I successfully upgraded my AV320 to an AV380 the following night. It was far more difficult to get inside the AV300 than the RD2780. See my guide to upgrading the RD2780 here.

I will tell you that the additional $45 + $29 warranty upgrade was the best money I have ever spent. I absolutely love my AV300. Watch the videos I posted and make your own judgments. If you value the same aspects of these new PVP devices, you had better hope you haven't had your RD2780 longer than 30 days... so you can still return it to Circuit City... no questions asked.
